Ignition Point was formed in the summer of 2012 and is a member-managed private equity group focused on investing in early-stage growth companies across South Florida. Ignition Point and other similar organizations are commonly referred to as “angel groups” in the financial community (see Angel Investing Basics for more details).
Ignition Point members, all individual accredited investors, are founders, CEO’s, and business & community leaders who have built and worked for world-class organizations (more than half of our members have Founder/CEO experience). Members mentor and coach the entrepreneurs they invest in, serve as board members, provide contacts, and assist the entrepreneur with team building, strategic planning and follow-on fundraising. Ignition Point is not a traditional venture fund and does not invest as a group. While members collaborate on screening potential investment opportunities and due diligence, each member makes an individual investment decision under common valuation and terms.
Ignition Point members represent a broad base of experience across multiple industry sectors and have significant entrepreneurial and private investment experience. The diverse business experience of our members coupled with their active role in the investment process, enables our group to consider opportunities in a wide range of industry sectors. Importantly, our members contribute directly to a company’s development once an investment has funded.
